Since moving to California we have been able to hang out in SF quite a bit. It's only 2 hours away and it's been fun to go down there every now and again. This last picture is a side to side of the exact some spot...only 6 and a half years apart. the left picture is us on our honeymoon. While in SF not too long ago we realized that we were on the exact same road we took the picture at on our honeymoon and decided to reenact it. (only i forgot that i kissed jase on the cheek in the original)

I'm totally playing catch up...This fun little trip was way back in April but thought I would still share. The boys and I were able to go see Crystal and Steve in Utah. Uncle Steve works for Park City Fire Department and the boys were super excited to check out the digs....they were also really happy cause there was some snow on the ground to stomp on:) It's so cute how interested boys are in big trucks..especially Fire trucks. Thanks Steve for showing the boys a good time....
P.S. oh and thanks for the awesome dinner you guys made too....those fire fighters eat good:)

Fun little outing..

Yesterday was such a beautiful day we decided to get out and explore a little. Jason had never been to Nevada City (this cute little town above grass valley) so we loaded up and went. We ate a quaint little cafe downtown next we got a yummy chocolate treat. Then drove up the mountains to explore. I spotted this cool tree with moss on it but it was at the bottom of a hill that went straight down. Jase and I have always loved to explore and be a little adventurous but we hadn't really done it with the kids. We both took a kid and walked (slid) down the hill to the bottom. Under this tree we were standing on was a creek. I set the camera up on the hill and put the timer on and ran down the hill jumping onto the log just in time. We had a blast and plan on having more fun adventures in the future.

I will be the first to admit I am not much of a cook. Since this was a success I thought I would brag a little. the meatloaf is Rachel Ray style..used a cupcake pan.. the little mini meatloafs will cook faster..seeing as how I decide what to make for dinner around 5pm. The fresh green beans have bacon, cherry tomatoes and shredded mozzarella cheese..so good!

We made it. We survived the month of November which included lots of last minute photo shoots, saying goodbye to some of the best friends ever, packing up our place, the 3 day trek out to California with a moving truck, unpacking at our new place, oh yeah, and Thanksgiving. I think we are all starting to get back into the groove of things now. We all love being close to family (especially the boys...they get lots of attention) The boys are enjoying having a backyard and just more room to run. I'm having fun getting my house together and organizing/decorating. Jason is keeping pretty busy with work and getting to know the area while traveling. It's been so beautiful here so I thought we would go to the park and play/take pictures....I love hanging out with my boys and watching them grow everyday...I really am a pretty lucky girl.

I am in denial no longer...We are moving. My house is full of half-packed boxes and a moving truck is scheduled. In just a few days we are making the 3 day (yeah, that's right) trip to California. We are so excited to be closer to family and move back out west. Still,we are sad to leave Oklahoma. We have enjoyed our time here more than we could have ever imagined. I remember driving into Tulsa for the first time and being pleasantly surprised, it wasn't a dust bowl at all! We have been pleasantly surprised over and over again by the great things that Tulsa has to offer. The friends we have made here are AMAZING and will be cherished so much. Ugh, I'm getting sappy. So, thanks Oklahoma for being our families first real home....and, get ready California...here comes the Carney Family!

I'm so glad that we were able to spend one last fall season in Tulsa. It is breathtakingly beautiful out here with the fall colors and crisp autumn air. We love the pumpkin patch and it didn't disappoint this year...well besides the mud and wind, but we still had fun!

These are just 5 out of the millions of pictures I took. I figured before I got too far behind I would just post a couple pictures. We had a great time spending time together as a family. I'm always pleasantly surprised after family trips at how well they turn out. The boys did great and we literally spent all day at the beach every chance we could get. It was relaxing and refreshing. I know this sounds lame but I am having so much fun with my little family right now. My boys are a blast to play with, they are so much fun and pretty independent. It's nice not to have to carry around a diaper bag or car seat:) They give me a run for my money but I love them so much and love experiencing life and there new findings everyday. I'm feeling pretty lucky right now.

6 years ago today..

I was surrounded by my closest family and friends
I couldn't stop smiling
I had butterflies all day
I felt like a princess

I was madly in love
I married my best friend.
Looking back on that day I didn't think I could be any happier, or love any deeper. Jason has proved me wrong by making it possible for me to love him even more and giving me my amazing boys to gain a whole new level of love for. Thanks for an incredible 6 years babe.

We were able to spend a few days in California before heading to Oregon. We spent those days doing perfect summer activities...swimming, fishing, grilling, wiffleball(sp?) and more swimming. Just what we needed...

This is one of our favorite spots ever. We always come up to this look out while we are here. It's truly breathtaking!

I went on a nice little hiatus from the blogging world. Now that we are getting back to a routine I figured I'd get back in a blogging routine too. We have had a blast this summer, it went by so fast! I'm going to start with documenting our trip to California and Oregon. Oregon was so much fun. We had beautiful weather and spent most of our time outside playing in the sand. Jack loved making sand castles and digging. Nolan not so much...but he got used to it eventually. We spent 4th of July on the beach. It was packed and fun to see all the fireworks. The trip was very relaxing and much needed. It was fun to see Grandma DD and all the cousins.

My friend Jennifer took these pictures...I'm so glad she did. I love my little guys so much and am constantly amazed and humbled that they are ours to raise here on this earth. They are so much fun right now. Jack is such a little thinker and loves numbers! Jason has taught him how to add already. He is always acting like some sort of robot and will tell you anything you need to know about Star Wars. Nolan is my crazy red head who is full of energy. He loves to be just like Jack and his friends. He is always trying to do things that make us laugh. I've pulled him out of the bathtub with his clothes on 3 times this week because he knows it makes Jack laugh. They bring me so much joy. Love my little men..
I'm so pleased to say that I am still totally in love with this guy if not more than I was so many years ago. I have a sweet story that describes how perfect Jason is for me.
About a week or so ago I was super emotional (it was that pleasant time of the month) and was on the verge of crying literally at any second. Not for any reason specifically just because I really needed to get a good cry out. ( I was considering watching the Notebook later just to get it out) At about 10:30 after the kids were put to bed ( I had already stopped myself from crying about 10 times by then) Jason told me to get my swim suit on we were going swimming. It was pretty cold outside this night and the pool water hadn't totally warmed up yet. I told him I wasn't in the mood but he didn't take no for an answer. So we went out to the pool and jumped in. It was freezing but totally exhilarating! We hung out there for awhile and when the hot tub cleared out we got in their and just talked about nothing really just random things (i.e. like words that could both be used as nouns and adjectives) my whole mindset had totally changed and i was just enjoying hanging out, by about 11:30 I felt so much better! I probably could not have even cried if I wanted to because I was so happy. Jason is so sweet and truly cares about my feelings. He works pretty long hours and is exhausted when he get home but still find time to spend a little quality time with us. Love that guy...

I can't believe I have a kid old enough to play Tee ball! Jack is really enjoying it and so is Jason. My favorite part of the whole thing is when they are warming up they all "attempt" jumping jacks. I'll have to get a video of that...it's pretty classic. Baseball is something that Jack has always enjoyed and has created a bond between him and Jason. Here is to many more seasons to come!

Can't forget Nolan! Here he is playing peekaboo with his hat trying to get anyone and everyone to pay attention to him...such a little clown.

Memorial Day 2009

There were so many pictures I couldn't post them all! We had a great time at the Lake this Memorial Day with friends and good food. The kids had a blast even though the water was freezing. We hope to do it again next year!

Summer is almost here and we have been loving this time of year. We've been keeping busy with lots of trips to the park, pool and just recently Tee ball practice.
Jack really enjoys baseball and is so excited for Tee ball. His daddy started playing catch with him at a very young age and he was so excited to get his first glove! Last practice Nolan was so cute....he was right there with all the kids thinking he was playing with the big kids.
We also signed Jack up for swim lessons and he is doing a great job with that as well! Hopefully by the end of this summer he will be a little swimming machine.
Jason has been keeping busy being our hero and working hard and I have been keeping busy click click clicking away on the camera. I just put my point and shoot camera in my purse again because I felt like I was missing little moments because I didn't' want to take the hassle of getting out my SLR.
We are so excited to go back out west this summer and see all the fam!

Jack has always enjoyed being artistic (he gets it from his aunt.) I'm trying really hard to keep him busy enough so the constant badgering of playing xbox won't occur. We had fun molding and painting dinosaurs today with Jacks friend Chase. It's fun to watch his little imagination go while he is painting or doing whatever. It's always been something I've enjoyed (sometimes its exhilarating to just whip out the crayons and let your creative juices flow.....or is that just me?)

I thought I had the whole "mothering" thing down after having Jack...at all stages of Jacks childhood he was a pretty awesome kid and I credited that awesomeness to my parenting skills. Little did I know that I had a little red headed crazy waiting for me up there to come and throw me totally off my parenting high horse.
This little man is constantly going! There is not a square foot that he doesn't cover in the house every day. Not a cupboard he doesn't open and not a closet he doesn't get locked in. Seriously, he is insane. And I love every little piece of him.

I have been on the internet WAY too much this past week...and what do you ask that I have been looking at? Dogs. I'm super pet hungry. I have no idea why, but I can't stop reading about them and researching all the crazy breeds. Seriously though, who knew there was such a thing as puggles, chiweenies, or shorkies? I still have no idea on what type of dog to get....Jason is aBIG dog type of guy, but lately Iv'e been thinking a small one would be fun....especially with the kids.

Have you ever had one of those days where you wake up in the morning and ask yourself," where do I start?" I'm so bad at getting overwhelmed with all the things I need to do for that day that I just want to give up before I even begin..So this is where I need your help. I need advice on how to organize my life! I've tried to do the daily tasks, I've made myself lists, and I've just waited until the kids are in bed and knocked it all out in a couple hours...None of them have really stuck. These days Nolan is a little tornado that is dragging things all over the house while finding other things to get out on his way, laundry is piling up constantly and the dishes in the sick are never ending. This totally sounds like I'm complaining, but really...ok fine I'm complaining. Alright all you supermoms!!! Tell me what works for you!

New Hair...

For some odd reason whenever I go to the salon and get in that chair something always comes over me and I always want to go drastic, I don't think I have ever gotten a trim in my life. It's too fun to experiment. My friend fig actually says it much better than me, and it's kind of cool that we were both feeling the vibe recently.

At the Tulsa 66ers game tonight..It was fun to watch the game..when I wasn't chasing after my little red!

Lacey's quirks:
1. I can't stand it when people use measuring cups to drink out of, especially when there are even clean cups in the cupboard they just go for the measuring cups instead. (ok after thinking about this I realized that this isn't a quirk of mine, it is a quirk of the people who actually do this..i.e. sara, crystal.)
2. I could sleep all day if I could, it never gets old for me and when people ask me what a hobby of mine is I tell them sleep. I was always the first one to bed at the sleepovers and had crazy stuff done to me.
3. When Jason and I bet on things if I win the only thing I want is to pop one of his zits...
4. I can't stand any milk that isn't ICE COLD... if it has even been sitting out for like 2 seconds I get so mad and can't drink it.
5. I bite my fingernails whenever I watch any kind of show or movie that is scary or intense, I don't even realize it until after the fact and my fingers hurt.

Jacks quirks:

1. Jack LOVES spaghettio's and meatballs, but he only eats the meatballs.
2. Jacks is constantly walking on his tippy toes and prances when he runs. He has good calf muscles..
3. Jack actually enjoys being in small enclosed places, he would be under a blanket fort all day if he could, Nolan on the other hand is super claustrophobic and hates being under blankets!
4. Jack could name every character from Star Wars and if they are Jedi or on the Dark side....he is obsessed, to say the least.
5. Jack loves to have his tummy, arms, legs or face lightly scracthed before he goes to bed, I think this is doing of his Aunt Crystal...
6. Jack has no comfort items and never has. He is not attached to a single blanket, binky, cup or toy...You might not think this is strange, but almost all kids have some kind of comfort item.

Blast from the Past..

Recently I have been thinking about doing a weekly post about the past. I'm not sure why but I've been pretty sentimental lately and thought it would be fun to post about something from way back when every once in awhile. I couldn't help but start with my amazing man. When I met Jason he made me laugh within seconds and I knew I wanted to be his friend. After hanging out with him awhile I only laughed harder. He was a skater/drummer and only wanted to be a rock star when he grew up. I know, it's probably hard to believe for those of you who didn't know him then. Him and his roommates were totally random and on many occasions I would walk into their apartment and I would find something similar to these pictures. Mind you, it was not Halloween....just a random night doing random things. He never failed to make me laugh, and he still doesn't.

Leprechaun eating Dino-Bot...

It was his calling in life to be a Leprechaun, don't you think?

Iit only cost me 1.27$ to make. Can't beat that!

Jack decided this year that he wanted to be a dinosaur/robot for Halloween... For the longest time I could not figure out how I was going to come up with a costume for that..So, this is what I came up with. He thinks it is pretty awesome, he also thinks he is really scary when he wears it. Jack loved his costume so much and I think a big reason why is because he helped me make it.

I knew I wanted Nolan to be a Leprechaun for Halloween for a while, but my sewing capabilities are slim to non. My friend Kristen totally helped me and it turned out amazing! I couldn't stop laughing when I first put it on him...I think he needs to be a Leprechaun every year of his life!

Since I'm claiming this as a journal (kind of) I wanted to document a couple of things that Jack says to remember how cute he is...because he has been pretty sassy these days!

1. When I go to the Fridge to pull out the milk Jack always asks me, "Mom, is that happy milk?" ( I think one time I had told him that the milk has gone bad, so he has to ask me now if it is happy now)

2. We have a Jack Johnson CD in the car that we listen to sometimes. He loves the song that has the phrase, "where'd all the good people gooo.." and he sings to it every time. It's so cute.

3. Jason put Jack to bed one night and I was sitting out on the couch...Jack came out of his room and Jason gave him the get-back-in-your-bed look Jack said, "But dad, I need to tell mommy that I love her"

4. Jack has heard me say, "whatever" on several occasions. But he has his own version I guess. The other day I was telling him that we were going to his soccer game and he needed to focus while he was playing and he said, "notever mom" I said, "what do you mean notever?" He said, "Mom, you say whatever and I say notever..."

Several years before two American missionaries unexpectedly knocked on her family's apartment door in 1954, young Harriet experienced a seemingly trivial encounter with another young stranger that would have lasting significance.
Germany, at the time, was taking its first steps of recovery following the devastation of World War II. West Germany was under occupation by the U.S. military. Life was hard and lean. Harriet Reich was still young enough then to sit atop a small handcart that her mother, Carmen Reich, would push through the streets of Frankfurt as she went about her daily business of caring for her small family.
On one occasion, the mother and daughter passed a young U.S. solider. The American G.I. smiled at the little girl, tossed her a foil-wrapped stick of chewing gum and continued on his way.
"I had never seen chewing gum, I didn't know what it was," said Sister Uchtdorf, wife of President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, second counselor in the First Presidency.
After receiving permission from her mother, little Harriet unwrapped the gum, placed it in her mouth and began to chew. She was amazed to find she could chew, chew and chew — but the small, flavorful gift would not dissolve and disappear!
"I had this precious thing now," said Sister Uchtdorf, relishing the memory. "So I took it from my mouth and put it back in this beautiful silver paper, wrapped it up and kept it. Each and every day I chewed it a little bit until there was nothing left. This was so special to me at the time."
Years passed and times remained tough. Harriet's father, Iwan Victor Reich, passed away, adding to the challenges of Sister Reich and her two daughters, Harriet and Carmen. In the fall of 1954, the family was living in a top-floor apartment in Frankfurt when a knock was heard at their door. Harriet, then 12, answered and saw two young American men dressed in coats and ties. They asked in accent-tinged German if they could come in and share their special message. Immediately, Harriet's mind conjured the memory of the friendly American soldier and his special gift.
Mrs. Reich was hesitant to invite the missionaries inside — but her daughter proved persuasive.
"I said to my mother, 'Let them come in and let's listen for awhile,'" Sister Uchtdorf said. The missionaries introduced themselves as Elder Gary Jenkins of Pendleton, Ore., and Elder Richard Kowallis of Logan, Utah.
Recalling that moment, Brother Jenkins said he knew instantly that the humble family was ready to be taught the gospel.
"They were a golden family from the word 'Go'," he said. "They were interested in the message we had and they wanted us back soon. We were eager to do that."
The elders shared the Book of Mormon with the Reichs and taught them comforting lessons about eternal families and the plan of salvation. They introduced them to the friendly members of the Frankfurt Branch. Four weeks after answering that unexpected knock, Harriet and her family were baptized.
President Uchtdorf said that smiling American soldier gave little Harriet a kind gift that lasted a long time. "But (the missionaries) brought something she will have for eternity."
Recently, the Uchtdorfs spent a warm autumn afternoon with Gary Jenkins and his wife, MaryAnn. The Uchtdorfs and the Jenkins have remained in touch over the years, exchanging Christmas cards and updates on their respective families. More than a half-century has passed since Elder Jenkins and his companion, Elder Kowallis, knocked on the Reichs' door. But the gratitude and love the Uchtdorfs feel for those missionaries remain strong.
President Uchtdorf said his life has been forever blessed because two diligent missionaries taught the gospel to his future wife. He cannot imagine being without Sister Uchtdorf, serving in the Church together. Missionary work impacted their lives, and the lives of their children and grandchildren who have grown up faithful in the Church.
"And it's all because the missionaries were guided by the Spirit and did what they needed to do," President Uchtdorf said. "They were at the right place at the right time and said the right things."
Brother Jenkins recognizes that much in his own life would be different if he had not accepted his mission call to Germany. Whenever he sees a photo of the Uchtdorfs performing their worldwide Church service, or listens to President Uchtdorf deliver a conference address, his mind returns to that top floor apartment door in Frankfurt, Germany, 54 years ago.
"You just never know what the next door will bring. Who will be there. Or what they will become."
The enthusiasm the Uchtdorfs feel for missionaries has never waned. Recently, Sister Uchtdorf spoke to a group of full-time missionaries in Panama. She counseled them to keep in contact with one another and the people they come to love. Find joy, she said, in preserving precious memories.
On President Uchtdorf's office desk is a small bronze statue of two young missionaries atop their bicycles. The sculpture reminds the Church leader of his own two grandsons who are serving missions — and the missionaries who found, taught and baptized his loved ones.
The two figures don't pedal leisurely. They stand up off their seats, anxious to reach their destination.

Jack is playing soccer this year and so far has really enjoyed it! The practices are his favorite he is one of the youngest on his team and pays attention and follows directions from the coach pretty well. He likes the games too....until about 30 min into it...then he gets a little tired towards the end. The last game we only had 5 players show up (you have to have 5 to play) so they had to play the whole game. The last few minutes Jack just hung out right on the edge of the sideline....I was ok with that as long as he was on the field we didn't have to forfit..

My little man turned One this week. Since the day he was born he has made me so completely happy. His smiles and kisses melt my heart. Don't get me wrong, he can be sassy sometimes (but I blame that on his red hair) but for the most part he is a peach. I love having my two little men at my sides and want to be as blindly naive as I can about the day that they will like other girls besides their mom! We love you Nolan..

Last month has been full of fun eventful things to blog about...but I didn't blog anything...I was in a blogging funk. Iv'e started to come around again and decided to start with this past week. I turned 25! It feels really good and for some reason I love getting older, I'm sure that will stop soon. My wonderful friends put together a dinner for my birthday (Jason lucked out) so we went over to McLaceys for dinner and dessert. All day I felt so loved and so grateful that so many people cared about me. ( I know cheesy) It was a great night. We also had Lacey 3's baby shower on Sat. she is being induced on the 9th and will have a baby boy. It was so fun to help out with the shower, glad it was a success. We are all so excited for her!
Football has taken over and I love it! We have a friend that plays on TU this year and it has been so exciting to watch him play. Jack is really enjoying the games this year too..Nolan just wants to climb up and down the stairs.

Yesterday we went to Oklahoma City for Jason's swearing in...It was the last step to the long road that is Law School. I must say that the pressure and stress that Jason no longer has is a breath of fresh air! We are enjoying the evening and weekends that we have with him so much.
It was one of those days that after Jason requesting to be referred to as Esquire all day, Jack playing hide and go seek in the Supreme Court and Nolan wandering off into the restricted halls of the State Capital I wouldn't have traded this day in for anything in the world...I'm so proud.

We are embarking upon the most important time of the year folks....football season. 5 years ago if someone would have asked me the importance of this time I would have said, "all the fall premiere shows!" (not that I'm not excited about those too..) but after being married to my fanatic of a husband I know better. When we were debating on moving away or staying in tulsa one of the top pro's on our pro's and con's list was TU football. he. is. obsessed. and the thing is...he is dragging me down with him. I am already awaiting sneaking all the tailgating food and walking to QT during halftime. For the next few months...you know where we will be on a Sat. afternoon.

I actually stole this post from my sister Crystals blog...She wrote it better than I would ever be able to...and I would probably be crying all the while..so here is to my dad...the coolest most loving dad ever! Don't ever scare me like that again!

"This is my dad. Of course he is the best dad ever, because he is my dad. My dad is basically the toughest guy around. Last night, he survived quite the accident. He climbed out of he passenger side of a burning and exploding Highlander with only some singed hair and a scratch or two. It was no minor miracle. The other man involved was not nearly so lucky...at all. In the hours of sleep I missed last night after hearing the bittersweet news, I thought of how different my world would be without this man. I know that even if death phased him, he would still be my daddy for eternity. Still though... I can't imagine how difficult life would be with out him. I'm so glad God saw fit to keep him here on the earth a little longer. He's such a strength and a true friend to everyone, especially his children. He is all of ours (his 6 kids) #1 fan. Ask any of us. From this, I've found it's time to start appreciating the physical presence of my family in my life. I hope to take advantage of the time we have with one another... the reality that it could dissappear any day has suddenly become more of a reality. I'm inexpressibly grateful for the preservation of my daddy's life."

I'm such an amateur at this, I've totally taught myself and I'm sure to a professional eye these are very far from perfect...but it's just so much fun! These are some pictures of my friends Kressyda and Cameron's beautiful baby Olive and sweet boy Eliot...They are moving to Texas next week. I can't describe how sad I am that they are leaving and I quite honestly can't talk about it or I start to cry ( like go crawl into bed and have a pity party cry) I'm so happy that Kress and I were able to be law school widows together....I couldn't have asked for a better friend to talk away the days with. We are buried by the Bar Exam! Just memorize this little bit of material and you'll be fine! And we thought law school was bad! Jason leaves the house at 8:00 a.m. for work, spends the afternoons studying, attends Barbri class in the evening, and finally comes home at about 10:00 p.m. We have an occasional sighting of him on the weekends, but it's going to be a long summer. But passing the Bar will make it all worthwhile . . . right?

We were able to take advantage of the beautiful weather and have some fun this weekend! Here's a few of the things we did:

Jack loves going outside to ride his bike. He is getting it down well and can peddle and steer at the same time now!

The Jenks School was putting on a fun activity where they brought all sorts of trucks, buses, cars and tractors all to one place and let the kids climb all over them. Jacks favorite part was the bus ride...He loves those buses.

I don't think I'll have a problem getting him to ride the bus..I don't ever remember being this happy to take the bus to school!

After that downtown Jenks had a herb and garden festival. It was so fun to see all the beautiful plants in bloom it made me want a yard so bad! I settled for some Basil and Oregano to put on my window sill.

Jack came to me with this beautiful "ewege" Flower and wanted it so bad... I couldn't say no.

We started a paper chain to countdown the days till daddy's graduation. Jack doesn't like the fact that it is getting shorter, but Jason and I can't wait to rip off those little paper links!

Sometimes I sit on the computer and get so caught up in reading so many other peoples blogs that by the time I decide that I should probably post something I'm sick of looking at the computer screen and just go do something else. So I apologize for the lack of postings..It's just that everyone else is just more interesting than I am! That isn't to say that we haven't been keeping busy here at the Carnival...(Carney residence)
I was able to go to OKC for a Time Out for Women last weekend and had a blast... Jason did a great job with the boys. I was a little nervous at first with Nolan but it seems everything went well...I'll have to do that more often! Jack is finally potty trained and can start wearing pants around the house now. We are happy to only have to be purchasing 1 set of diapers instead of 2! Nolan is huge and loves playing with Jack.. He is such a big boy and loves to be out of the house intently watching everyone around him or anyone who will give him attention. Oh yeah, one more thing..Jason graduates in 16 day!!!! We are so excited and so proud of all of his hard work the past 3 years.. or his whole life for that matter.
For those of you who don't know Jase accepted a job at the District Attorneys office here in downtown Tulsa. He has been interning there for about a year and has really enjoyed it so far.This summer he will be working part time and studying for the Bar the rest of his waking hours..I probably won't enjoy that part too much but I'll be okay:)

Meet the newest member of our little family. This is Deebo. Jack named him. He is a Betta and fits just perfectly in our family. Jack is obsessed with him and will spend long long periods of time just watching him and talking to him. I am being kept busy trying to keep him alive making sure no foreign objects or too much food is in his tank. I'm glad there is a pet store just down the road in case of emergency:)

Two totally random topics..So these are the two things that have been occupying my little mind lately..
1. the NCAA tournament, well not so much the tournament itself but my bracket and the wager I need to make with Jason asap...I can't really think of anything really good...I know I could say, "dishes for a week" or "the next 10 poopy diapers" but I want to think of something original. (my bracket looks pretty good so far, I have 12 picked out of the sweet 16..)
2. As I was up last night in horrible pain due to that womanly time of the month, I found myself asking, "I wonder if there is some kind of special secret or remedy that I don't know about to get rid of cramps? hmmm..maybe I'll put it on my blog.." At this point I'll take any advice out there..I'm desperate! (sorry it's a little personal, but as I said, I'm desperate)

I thought I would post just a few of our favorite things that we did while in Branson.

First things first...for those of you that don't know Jacks black sweatshirt is a favorite in and of itself...He wears it EVERYWHERE and he will only take his hands out of his pockets and his hood off for very special occasions...as you can see, this is one of them. We were shuttled to Silver Dollar City on a bus and that was probably the best part of Jacks day. He LOVES buses and he has to tell me every time he sees one and what color it is. He is a one happy boy!

At Silver Dollar City they had a giant playhouse for kids that was filled with balls and air guns to shoot them. We had to go back to this one twice, he just couldn't stop talking about it. He could have easily spent all day here.

Hands down Jasons favorite part was the roller coasters...We are both suckers for roller coasters. The lines weren't bad at all so we would just trade off watching the kids and go ride one by ourselves..it was pretty pathetic but I couldn't help having a goofy grin on my face when the ride was getting ready to start. Can you find Jason in this picture?

Ok so this is a gross picture but I just wanted to illustrate what my favorite part of the trip was...doing nothing! We don't have the BRAVO channel at our house so my nights (when i should have been sleeping) were full of project runway marathons.

I didn't forget Nolan. He just enjoyed being tended to in his stroller the whole time. He was such a good boy and I know that is a big reason why the trip was so successful. I love to look out and watch what was going on and as long as we were strolling he was in his happy place!

Branson or Bust!

Last weekend we were able to go on a little family vacation to Branson, Missouri. We had a blast, it was just what we needed over spring break and to our surprise, we had no crazy mishaps, no crying tantrums, and no blow out diapers (the things I feared most)
All of our vacations in the past have been to go visit family so we have never really had a family vacation with just us. It got us excited for the many more family vacations to come!

We are finally getting used to our little lives here in Tulsa again..With the two hour time difference and daylight savings it's taken awhile to get back on schedule. 4 Months old!

Nolan is just growing like a weed lately! It makes me so sad to see him grow up so fast. He had his 4 month appt. yesterday and is pretty average for his height and weight. He loves attention and gives people the biggest smiles. Yesterday was his first time with solid foods. It's so cute to watch their faces when they are trying to figure out what to do with what is in their mouths.
Around 6 at night Nolan gets kinda fussy and only wants to be held up straight while we are standing up. One night Jason figured out that if he could wedge him standing in between the two pillows on our couch he was pretty happy. Don't worry we didn't leave him alone or anything but it was nice for a little while at least!

I think he liked the bib more..

I was thinking about what a wonderful husband I have and how creative he is when it comes to Valentines Days..the year we were dating Jason and his friend Ben came up with this huge elaborate plan that included going around to stores in the mall and collecting roses until we ended up at Zales (the diamond store) where he "fake" proposed to me...and the first year we were married we had an amazing dinner and then went on a cute little carriage ride...He is always so thoughtful and knows what makes me happy. It doesn't take much to make me melt..a poem or even a letter will do the trick. It seems like so long ago we were just love struck college students who stayed up talking till all hours of the night...Heres to many more amazing Valentine Days! love ya babe..

Everytime Jack finds any kind of coins on the ground he says, "bus!" We know that he means he wants to go to the mall and ride the fun little toys..He loves it so much, that he will go potty as often as he has to just so he can go ride the "bus." (Bribery is awesome)

Jack got this train set for Christmas and I'm am happy to say that he plays with it everyday. I was pretty nervous getting him a more expensive gift..hoping that it wouldn't be left in a box somewhere never to be seen. He loves his "whoo whoo!"

I can't get over how much Jack loves his "baby" he is always so aware of his every little need and thinks he knows exactly what to do to make him happy..it's so cute. Nolan is starting to enjoy Jack more. He is smiling at him and grabbing for his hand.

This picture probably needs a whole post to itself but Jack loves his friends "bellanatalie" We were over there the other day and Jack thought he would enjoy the dress up fun with the girls..it didn't last for long...Jack kind of realized what he was wearing and wanted it off... but not until I got a picture!

Jack LOVES Chase and Riley, but probably not as much as I love him taking off with them for hours at a time:) They are all little buds and it's fun to watch them become closer with eachother..There is never a dull moment when those boys are together!

This is Crystal with her fiance' Steve

As most of you know my twin sister Crystal will be taking the plunge and be getting married next month...she is just growing up so fast! just kidding. She was able to come stay with us for a few days before having to get back to wedding planning and it was nice to spend some quality time together...even though she was sick.
During college Crystal and I went down separate paths after doing pretty much the same thing for 19 years. I got married and she went on a mission..it was pretty hard for us both to cope with not talking or seeing each other everyday. Although we were both doing things that we loved, we were not on the same page, which took a little getting used to. Now, I'm happy to say we talk all the time and I can't wait for her to be an "old married lady" like me! Love ya sis!
